 1. a place where something is, was or will be built.

  • Our client has finally chosen a site for their new office.
  • They are planning to develop this entire site into a condominium.


2. a place where something happened, is happening or will happen.
  • This is the site of the most recent robbery.
  • Guards will be posted around the site of the movie production.

Homonyms - Heap (As a Noun and Verb)

 1. (noun) - a pile or mass of things.

  • There was a heap of junk mail in the mailbox when we got back from our holiday.
  • Sarah stared at the huge heap of dirty laundry lying next to the washing machine and groaned.


2. (verb) - to put things in a pile.

  • John heaped as much food onto his plate before sitting down to eat.
  • The boys heaped their plates with food during the buffet, but only one of them managed to clear his plate.
