Future Perfect Tense

The future perfect tense is:
                                      Will have  +   past participle


The rules:
  1. used to refer to actions or situations which will be completed by a definite time in the future.
    • By this time tomorrow, my sister will have arrived in London.
    • John will have completed his course by June next year.
  2. used with just and already to refer to actions or situations which will be finished by an approximate time in the future.
    • By the end of next month, Sarah and her family will have already moved into their new house.
    • My parents will have just arrived in Auckland by this time tomorrow morning.

Compare:
Present Perfect Tense
  • James has worked in this bank for 5 years. (completed action at the time of speaking.)

Past Perfect Tense
  • When James became a manager last month, he had worked in this bank for 5 years. (completed action at a point of time in the past.)

Future Perfect Tense
  • By the end of this year, James will have worked in this bank for 5 years. (completed action at a point of time in the future.)
